THE HOUSE AT A THOUSAND WAVES is a film about childhood trauma, conquer, defeat, friendship and pluralism that touches on the subject of poverty and pedophilia. SAMIHI (11 years), who is a Muslim, and WAYAN MANIK (12 years), a Hindu, and they live in poor areas of BALI, INDONESIA. SAMIHI, who is asthmatic, never sets foot in the sea or rivers, fearing that he will drown like his late brother. YANIK, who loves the sea and works as a tour guide at Lovina beach, is traumatized after falling victim to a foreign pedophile. Do their childhood friendship can resolve all their fears and traumas?
