Ciro Guerra, whose Colombian film Embrace Of The Serpent is up for the Best Foreign Film Oscar, has signed to make his English-language directing debut on the dystopian adventure The Detainee, for Thunder Road Pictures and Film House Germany. The film is an adaptation of a trilogy by author-playwright Peter Liney. The Detainee is the first volume, and The Maze Runner‘s Grant Myers has signed to adapt it. Its aspiration is to be a Hunger Games for adults.
