A film "Wooden Staircase" is a poetic drama of time and fate, a metaphor, leading to introspection. Through fatalism, fates and time connection two young people are looking for consensus and comprehension between themselves. There is the character of the half-mystic man Thomas - embodying the famous writer Thomas Mann`s spirit, living beyond time. He lets the young protagonist, Vilius, go back to his past and shows him the mistakes, which he has made before. A rendezvous with the past has a large influence on Vilius` present.
