Graveyard Films is making quite a name for themselves in the low budget horror community. Although not quite as good or effective as Anthony Ferrante's Boo. Cemetery Gates is an above average venture about a killer tazmanian devil set loose in a cemetery. How, you may ask, not that it really matters. But the same ol setup. Gentic experimenting gone awry attacks a group of hotties while there filming a zombie flick. what differentiates itself from the rest is the writing is slightly better, the film is well paced, the movie stars quite a few hot guys with nice bods and the gore is exquisite. A film that promises 17 deaths at the beginning in 90 minutes can't be all that bad. And there are 17 deaths and their pretty friggin gruesome ranging from fast and nice to long and very creative. The film is also very aware of the fact that its a cheesy b-movie it can be seen through the handling of it's subject matter and the casting of phantasm veteran Bannister. it doesn't take it self to seriously and you shouldn't either. Besides, if you rent a movie about a genetically altered killer Tazmanian devil and you expect something serious, you've got problems.
