Being active in the Armed Forces, the regime’s youngest opponents were the only ones not tainted or overwhelmed by it. These people came of age just as the first free elections were held and the Autumn of Nations was born – the best possible time. They were jealous of the generation of ’68 and of those who had set up the Workers Defence Committee. They were counting on big things post-1989 and were expecting political clout to come their way. They soon became discouraged
