The story is set during the socially, economically, and emotionally challenged years after the dark times of the German Occupation of Greece. It depicts the struggles of a motley assortment of people, who, against all odds, fight to create a better future for themselves and their families, working their fingers to the bone, yet encountering insurmountable obstacles.
