Struggling to eke out an existence, Yanakis, an orphaned boy, has no other choice but to obey his cruel and unscrupulous protector known as "The Old Man", and do his bidding. Then, on a cold Christmas night, Yanakis breaks into the house of a well-to-do professor who is using a wheelchair, intent on stealing. However, when they catch him red-handed, and Yanakis begins to recount his sad story, fire breaks out, threatening the life of his daughter. Will the little thief end up in a juvenile correctional institution?
