Lidiya Chukovskaya was a Russian writer who survived the most dramatic events of the 20th century Russia, and captured the highlights of Russian cultural history in her memoirs. She was born Lidia Korneevna Chukovskaya on March 24, 1907, in St. Petersburg, Russian Empire (now St. Petersburg, Russia).
