Knut Haugland was born on September 23, 1917 in Rjukan, Telemark, Norway as Knut Magne Haugland. He was a cinematographer, known for Kon-Tiki (1950), Untold Stories of World War II (1998) and The Real Heroes of Telemark (2003). He was married to Ingebjørg Prestholdt. He died on December 25, 2009 in Oslo, Norway.
