Geoff Barkway，Staff Sergeant Geoff Barkway of the Royal Engineers was one of the six glider pilots who landed British commandos at the Pegasus Bridge on 6 June 1944; their job was to capture the bridge, which had been scheduled for demolition by the Germans, in order to hamper the Allied invasion of Normandy.
